Rules to state in full sentences in exams:

Right-hand thumb rule: Imagine holding a current-carrying straight conductor in the right hand with the thumb pointing in the direction of conventional current; the curled fingers give the direction of magnetic field lines.
Fleming’s left-hand rule: Stretch the thumb, forefinger, and middle finger of the left hand mutually perpendicular. Forefinger → magnetic field, middle finger → current, thumb → force (motion).

Common Mistakes (Don't Lose Marks)

Using the right hand for Fleming’s force rule (force on conductor → left).
Swapping fingers in FBI (wrong force direction).
Calling green wire the live wire (green = earth; live usually red).
Saying field lines can intersect.
Writing field inside a long solenoid is zero (it is uniform and non-zero).
Treating short circuit and overload as identical (related but not the same).
